About the Award HDF Excellence Awards is a step to recognize and acknowledge the outstanding contributions by the individuals and organizations working in the development sector. This is a part of the measures designed to enhance efforts and services nationwide to create empowered communities. The awards will cover significant fields such as Education, Health, and Economic Development for the individuals, outstanding achievements by an organization, and Lifetime Achievement Award to an individual.
This is to motivate and encourage the individuals and organizations, spending their precious time and resources in the field and yielding valuable results. This will not only allow an atmosphere of friendly competition but will also earn the respect of the masses for such individuals and organizations. The awards will be presented annually.
For the purpose, we invite individuals working in development sector across the nation to come forward and share with us their unique achievements. We also invite organizations working in the field to make known their profiles and achievements.
The Criteria
The creative excellence and outstanding execution of activities in the development sector in any of the below mentioned categories.
Award Categories
Category 1 :
for individual extraordinary performance
1. Education
2. Health
3. Economic Development
Category 2:
Out standing Achievement award - Organization
Category 3:
Life Time Achievement individual for outstanding contribution in any developmental philanthropic area. (Nomination is not required. It will be exclusive selection by the Jury.)
Prizes
Category 1 (Each):
Trophy with cash award of Rs. 100,000 to the winners and Certificates to 5 short-listed candidates in each category.
Category 2:
Three laptops with trophy and a certificate
Category 3:
Trophy with cash award of Rs. 300,000.
Eligibility/Who can apply?
Category 1:
Preference will be given to organizations registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agency Ordinance 1961, the Societies Registration Act 1860, or Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984. The nominee must be an employee of that particular NGO for more than a year.
Category 2:
The Organization with outstanding achievement in development sector that have attained national/international recognition and have benefited a large segment of our needy communities
Selection of the Winner
An independent jury comprising of high profile neutral personalities mostly from development sector will decide the winner
How to apply?
Category 1:
The desired NGOs, should nominate their employees, on the attached form. The organizations will send in the “citations” of their employees/nominees for consideration/scrutiny by the jury and for further processing.
Category 2:
The organizations will send the details of their outstanding achievements on the attached form.
Checklist for Applicants
Before submissions of nomination forms of the individuals and the organizations to HDF, it must be ensured that the following are added to the form:
• A maximum of two-page description (citation) of the program activities of the individuals and achievements of the organization. The description may include activities carried out and an account of the results achieved.
• Supplementary materials e.g. research report, media coverage or manual, national or international awards or recognition.
Points to remember: The two pages description must be based on the following points.
1. Background introduction
2. Development goals
3. Program Strategy
4. Special characteristics
5. Achievements to-date (Including Awards if any)
6. Problems encountered and solutions found
7. Plans for the future
8. Overall appraisal by the organization
